Allstate unveiled four TV commercials about the total protection of their insurance products. All those ads have a cheerful tone and use some good music like Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien by Edith Piaf for Smooth advert.

I hate this commercial. They’re trying to make it sound like people who drive so smoothly that things don’t fall off their roof are good drivers—and that State Fsrm rewards such drivers financially. But here’s the thing—if you’re so distracted by minor things Around you that you routinely leave things on your roof, you lack the attention span to be behind the wheel of a car. Especially if while you’re driving you’re also watching a State Farm app that’s tracking your driving, as shown in the ad. You’re a DANGER to yourself and others on the road! State Farm shouldn’t be REWARDING people like this—they should be charging them higher premiums, or DROPPING them
Who is the red headed actor in the last scene. I know I’ve seen him before
This is an ALLSTATE commercial, not State Farm. Apparently Bill is so distracted by this ad that he doesn’t even know what he is watching.
When this comes on, I always turn up the volume. The images are enchanting, and I particularly love the way the “ears” of the plastic shopping bag, as well as the hairs of the fuzzy slippers, flow gently back in the breeze. Meanwhile, we hear the defiant but plaintive strains of Edith Piaf’s “Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien”. Love it.
