Boston Dynamics unveiled a new advert for Spot, the nimble robot that climbs stairs and traverses rough terrain with unprecedented ease.
The ad announces that Spot is now available for purchase to businesses in the U.S.
Even though the individuals cannot purchase Spot yet, the ad attracted a lot of interest. The comments were not so positive because the idea of a four-legged robot scares, especially if we remember the Black Mirror episode with robot dogs (the episode name is Metalhead, the shortest Black Mirror episode).
The video receives a lot of comments from expected ones like “The Spot will enslave mankind” and “I have become Spot, the replacement of humanity.” to funny ones like “Did someone remember to charge the dog?” or “Department of Defense: I’ll’ll take 20 with the triple machine gun, cruise missile, and homing torpedo add on. And one with the Death Star laser, please.”
