Everyone perceives the moment of graduation as a precious and pride filled milestone in the life of any youthful adult. It is a moment of celebration, credibility, and praise. All the things that Whirlpool wish their brand to stand for. In this concept, the parents are the stars which is, of course, the brand’s target market. Nothing communication quite makes a good an impressions as direct compliments. Every parent will relate to the notions within this clip very easily, which will do a lot for the commercial in terms of its memorability.
Effectiveness – 8 / 10
The objective here is to condition parents, especially those who are within a younger generation, to relate the brand to great care, sensitivity, understanding and quality living. This concept plays with those notions flawlessly. Even older parents with fully grown children will appreciate the sentiment portrayed in the clip.
Style – 7 / 10
The dialogue runs clearly because the ad features a very subtle soundtrack and is shot in a calm and peaceful manner. The scenes are shown in an uplifting light with bright backdrops, attractive characters and heartfelt glimpses of struggle. Some of the images will make many viewers chuckle with the sentiment. The bond of pride between parents and their growing children is extremely powerful. Almost all parents will love the concept for its sheer relatability and viewers that do not have kids will adore it for its soft portrayal of feelings that are easy to understand.
Heart or Humor – 7 / 10
The concept is full of warmth which is a huge plus! Even the negative scenes of struggle are painted in a positive light as if to say “it’s all worth it in the end” and “even the hardest times will be incredibly meaningful when you look back on them”. These notions are all justification for seeking quality and reliability in your everyday care. Could the scenes be even more dramatic? Perhaps one or two could be in order to pull even harder on the heartstrings of parents that are currently experiencing the toughest moments of parenthood, but it’s not an aspect that is sorely missed.
Execution – 8 / 10
A fantastic script and great cinematography give life to a concept that may look quite boring and overly simple on a drawing board. The music, voiceover and shots have been compiled perfectly to leave the clip with a strong impression of care, warmth and purpose. We think a lot of parents will enjoy seeing the clip over and over, as well as consider trying Whirlpool in future. This concept wont set Youtube alight, nore will it win any awards, but it will certainly bring smiles to face of many current and aspiring parents.
