Skittles unveiled its first Halloween spot in over five years featuring Matty Cardarople (known to the public from Stranger Things Season 3 and Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events). The funny commercial was created by the advertising agency DDB Chicago and directed by Bjorn Ruhmann through Smuggler.
As the spot features a very annoyed witch, the tagline becomes “Annoy the rainbow. Taste the rainbow.” and the message is “Beware of witches who promise a lifetime supply of free Skittles, but also beware of teens that agree to such terms with little or no forethought.”
The spot is not the funniest one, but it managed to make me smile. Also, the product is visible for almost the entire duration of the spot.
