Domino’s Pizza has always been at the forefront of integrating technology into its services, and its latest innovation, Pinpoint Delivery, is no exception. The new technology allows customers to have pizzas delivered to a location marked by a pin dropped on a map through the Domino’s app. Customers can now receive orders at parks, beaches, and virtually anywhere.
The commercial promoting Pinpoint Delivery is an integrated campaign with 15- and 30-second spots showing “piedivers” falling from the sky to deliver pizzas. The campaign is set to run through August across linear, connected, and digital channels.
Pros:
- Innovation and Convenience: The Pinpoint Delivery technology is innovative and provides convenience for customers, allowing them to receive their orders at non-traditional addresses.
- Engaging Commercial: The commercial is engaging and visually appealing with the concept of “piedivers” falling from the sky, which is likely to capture viewers’ attention.
- Integration with Existing Technology: The new technology integrates well with Domino’s existing technologies, such as the Domino’s Tracker and driver’s GPS location, providing a seamless experience for customers.
Cons:
- Logistical Challenges: The technology might pose logistical challenges for delivery personnel, especially in crowded or hard-to-reach areas.
- Potential for Misuse: There is potential for misuse or pranks, with pins being dropped at inappropriate or inaccessible locations.
- Dependence on Mobile App: The service is app-dependent, which might not be convenient for all customers, especially those who prefer ordering through traditional means.
