After facing years of criticism for its exclusively young, thin, and cisgender models, Victoria’s Secret is unveiled its new commercial featuring plus-size model Paloma Elsesser alongside Imaan Hammam, Jill Kortleve, and Taylor Hill. Last year Victoria’s Secret unveiled for the first time notably more diverse than past ads in terms of casting.
The new Victoria’s Secret ad promotes the 2021 swim collection with the message “With warmer weather right around the corner, it’s time to think about the perfect suit for your escape.’
Most of the Victoria’s Secret fans were not happy with this change in the promotion. Many comments from those who saw this ad called for the return of VS angels in commercials.
