Beats “Beats 360” Ad Review – Every Kendall Is a Colorway

Beats does not open its Beats 360 launch on a product table or a gym mirror selfie. It opens on Kendall Jenner mid-conversation in a café that is already named after her – then quietly multiplies her until the room is full of Kendalls. “One headphone. Every version of you” is the line. The gag is the strategy: customization sold as personality cloning, not as a color swatch grid.

WHAT HAPPENS ON SCREEN

The :76 film is a closed loop inside Kendall’s, a classic bistro dressed like a stage set. Gym-bound Kendall snaps neon Performance Knit cushions onto white Beats 360 cans, stands to leave, and discovers the joke: the barista is Kendall, the reader is Kendall, the phone-call Kendall is Kendall, and the wall art is Kendall too. Gary Numan & Tubeway Army’s “Are Friends Electric?” scores the reveal like a soft panic attack with better styling.

We watch cushion swaps become costume changes. Lime green for the workout exit. Soft pastels and UltraPlush whites for the seated, eyes-closed listen. A trench-coat Kendall walks the door with headphones hooked on a bag strap while another Kendall stays put at the white-clothed table. The camera never needs a narrator to explain modular ear cushions. It just stacks identical faces wearing different outfits – and different colorways – until the product thesis is unavoidable.

The lockup lands clean: “Every version of you.” No feature dump about knit durability or gym sweat. Beats trusts the multiple-Kendall gag to do the explaining.

CREDITS

Brand: Beats by Dre (Apple). Product / campaign: Beats 360 launch – “One headphone. Every version of you” / Kendalls. Talent: Kendall Jenner. Agency: Uncommon Creative Studio. Director: Ariel Fisher. Production: Magna Studios. Soundtrack: Gary Numan & The Tubeway Army, “Are Friends Electric?” Official YouTube: Beats by Dre channel upload “Beats 360 ft. Kendall Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Kendall Jenner, and Kendall Jenner,” video ID WiDpX3w-KJE, uploaded September 22, 2026, runtime 1:16 (0:76). Availability: online at apple.com at launch; retail stores from September 24, 2026, per Adweek / Marketing Dive. Beats CMO Chris Thorne is quoted on the partnership in those reports. Additional campaign media (digital, OOH in LA/NY/London/Shanghai) noted in Marketing Dive; not independently inventoried shot-by-shot for this review.

THE EXECUTION

Uncommon’s idea is high-beta in the useful sense: refuse the usual Beats celebrity collage and make one celebrity a crowd. That choice flatters Jenner and the product at the same time. She is not a logo holder. She is the entire casting budget. Fisher keeps the café coherent enough that the doubles feel like a reveal, not a VFX flex. Lighting stays restaurant-warm. Tables stay dressed. The surrealism is casting, not crash zooms.

The product story is unusually honest for headphone advertising. Beats 360’s headline feature is swappable cushions – Performance Knit for training, UltraPlush for comfort – and the film dramatizes that as daily identity switching rather than a tech teardown. You see hands on cushions early. You see color as costume. That is better pedagogy than a floating UI card labeled “customizable.”

Where the craft gets thinner is where celebrity launch films often thin out. Audio is asserted by the licensed track and by Jenner’s closed-eye listen face, not by a sonic demo that would survive a mute scroll. Fitness credibility is gestured at with Volt cushions and a leave-for-the-gym beat, then abandoned for fashion-café mythology. Beats has spent years proving athletic seriousness through athletes; this cut borrows that equity without sweating for it on screen.

WHY IT WORKS AND WHERE IT FAILS

It works because the concept is legible in one freeze-frame. Multiple Kendalls in one room is a thumbnail that carries the brief. It works because Uncommon and Fisher refuse to over-explain; the café named Kendall’s is a joke that doubles as brand world-building. It works commercially as launch theater: a new over-ear SKU, Apple.com availability, store date, and a partner with actual cultural saturation across Instagram and fashion cycles.

It fails when “every version of you” collapses into “every version of Kendall.” The personalization pitch is theoretically democratic and practically a celebrity hall of mirrors. Viewers who do not already find Jenner magnetic are watching a stylish clone gag with limited product education. The Numan needle-drop is cool and slightly on-the-nose for an AI-adjacent year of doubles and digital twins – clever, but not subtle.

There is also category risk. Beats has run so many star vehicles that the bar is no longer “can we get a famous face?” The bar is “does the face invent a new reason to care about cans?” This spot invents a reason – modular identity – then spends most of its runtime proving Jenner can play ensemble with herself. That is entertaining. It is only partly a headphone commercial.

WATCH IT HERE

DailyCommercials Score: 7.7/10. A sharp, high-concept Beats 360 launch that turns Kendall Jenner into a colorway chart – stylish, meme-ready, light on hard audio proof.

Would you buy swappable cushions for the versions of you – or is this just Kendall all the way down? Tell us in the comments.
