Renault unveiled a controversial advertisement for its All-New Clio model, celebrating 30 Years in the making. The campaign was created by the advertising agency Publicis Poke and it is about two young friends and a school ‘French exchange’ ending after 30 years with more than a friendship. It is a touching 30-year lesbian romance advert.
As expected, the viewer opinions are diametrically opposed from “this is better than most LGBT films I’ve ever been, I don’t even know how to drive but I want to now” and “Literally my favorite ad ever!!!” to “Garbage mental case relationship attached to a garbage car made by a garbage auto manufacture”. Overall there are much more positive reviews so …. well done Renault!
The background music was arranged and produced by Luis Almau and the singer is Rahel Debebe-Dessalegne for Soundtree Music Ltd.
