KFC unveiled its Big Game Commercial. Created by advertising agency Wieden + Kennedy, the advert promotes Georgia Gold Honey Mustard BBQ Chicken. Available for a limited time, the crispy and tangy Georgia Gold is like a grown-up honey mustard – sweet with attitude. The flavor is based on the tangy mustard-based BBQ found in South Carolina and Northern Georgia, and is a continuation of the authentic regional flavors KFC is exclusively bringing to restaurants across the country.
Named “Colonel vs. Colonel,” the advert features Rob Riggle and Billy Zane.
KFC Georgia Gold comes with a new king of fried chicken. Actor and producer Billy Zane, best-known for his roles as tycoon Cal Hockley in Titanic and most recently as Stan Gutterie on ABC’s summer smash hit, Guilt, will appear as the Georgia Gold Colonel in the brand’s latest ad campaign starting January 29. For the specialty role, KFC sought out an established actor who knows you don’t have to be a millionaire to eat like one.
“Just like KFC’s Georgia Gold, I’m sophisticated, classy and gold. Yes, you read that right. I’ve undergone extensive gold plating in support of this new offering from KFC. Totally worth it,” said Billy Zane, the Georgia Gold Colonel.
“Our KFC Georgia Gold is like no other fried chicken you’ve ever eaten,” said Kevin Hochman, KFC U.S. chief marketing officer. “At $5.49 it’s a lot cheaper than real gold. And a lot tastier!”
