Hulu unveiled its new TV commercial. The film was created by the advertising agency Big Family Table and it features big celebrities names like Sofia Vergara (Modern Family), Joe Manganiello (Justice League), Jared Goff (LA Rams), Ramy Youssef (Ramy), Samira Wiley (The Handmaid’s Tale), James Harden (Houston Rockets), Sarah Silverman (I Love You, America), Miles Brown (Black-ish), Trippie Redd (American rapper and singer).
The film is funny but the marketing message is risky: “Listen carefully. This is important. Never Get Hulu. With Live TV + tons of shows and movies, it’ll ruin TV for you forever.”
Viewers’ general sentiment is positive because of the stars but the message tends to encourage the negative comments like “I have Hulu and is true it ruined my tv…. until I tried Netflix… it ruined Hulu..”
The marketing messages like “do not buy” attract attention but do not convince. So, this kind of tactics should be used with precautions.
